2012 Paraguay Primera Apertura y Clausura Season Review

Paraguay has maintained the traditional Apertura y Clausura without a playoff to decide an yearly champions. In 2012 Cerro Porteno won the Apertura and Libertad won the Clausura and both clubs were by far the best clubs during the season. Cerro Porteno won 26 games overall with mostly a veteran lineup that included Santiago Salcedo, Roberto Nanni and Jonathan Fabbro. Well Libertad also won 26 games overall but only lost five, the side also included a better collection of prospects including the strike partnership of Pablo Valazquez and the number one prospect in the league Jose Nunez
