2012 Brazil Serie A Season Review

Led by ex-Lyon player Fred league leading 20 goals, Fluminense won their second Brazil Serie A titles in three years. With the World Cup coming to Brazil in 2014 many Brazilian players are returning to play for Serie A clubs. The league is also keeping many younger stars in the league the most significant being the leagues top prospect Neymer and even the encouraging of non-Brazilians like Clearence Seerforf to play in the league. This means the league's quality now competes with some of the top leagues in Europe which was partly shown by Corinthians winning the 2012 world club championship over European Champions League winners Chelsea.
