2011-2012 English Championship Season Review

Many were surprised by Reading winning the 2011-2012 English Championship title and automatic promotion to the Premier League. Goalkeeper Adam Federici lead a club that had actually lost many of their top players and managers over recent seasons. Southampton who were promoted from league one year before, dominated the Championship most of the season through the performance of Rickie Lambert 27 goals/14 assists and Adam Lallana. West Ham United won the third promotion place through the playoffs over fellow recently relegated club Blackpool. Well standout championship players Robert Snodgrass and Chris Gunter will also be in the Premier League after being sold in the summer.
