2011-2012 Dutch Eerste Divisie Season Review

After missing out on promotion to the Dutch Eredivisie the season before, FC Zwolle won the Dutch Eerste Divisie Title in 2011-2012 and promotion to the Eredivisie. They were led by the 18 goals of Nassir Maachi. Willem II also return to the Eredivisie after only one season in the Eerste Divisie through the playoffs despite finishing 5th. Outstanding individual performances included Helmond Sport Jop van der Linden scoring seven times from direct free kicks and 21-year-old Mikhail Rosheuvel 14 assists with Almere City.
