2011-2012 Australia A-League Review

As the Australia A-League completed its seventh season there are still major concerns regarding  low attendance which has recently caused clubs to move or fold although excitement generated at the Grand Final shows there is interest in the league. In 2011, 50,168 saw Brisbane Roar score a last minute injury time goal to tie the game and won it on penalties and in 2012 a crowd of 50,334 watch them repeat as champions. Leagues top prospect Besart Berisha draw and then scored a controversial penalty four minutes into added time as Brisbane beat Perth 2-1. In hopes of gaining larger interest throughout the 2012-2013 season,  The A-league have now chosen to follow the American's MLS "Beckham Experiment" with Alessandro Del Piero joining Sydney FC.
