2012 Chile Primera Apertura y Clausura Season Review

The 2012 Chile Primera Apertura saw Univerisid de Chile continue their success from the 2011 league sweep winning their fourth Chile Primera title in a row. UdeC were led by the eight goals of 18 year old Angelo Henriquez who was sold to Manchester United after the Apertura. The Clausura regular season was won by traditional power Colo Colo who have not performed to their standards recently although in the playoffs 6th place Huachipato won the Clausura title beating Union Espanola in the playoffs which means they will participate in the Copa Libertadores for only the second time the first being in 1975. With Henriquez being sold the league's top prospect was Colo Colo striker Carlos Munoz who was the leagues top scorer over both rounds with 18 league goals.
